Akihibara. It was a bit of trouble getting here, mostly because the train fare tables were all in Japanese. Akihabara is Tokyo's Electric Town. Foreigners can buy electronics for a good deal. My Japanese co-workers tell me it used to be "radio town" where Japanese Ham types would gather and sell things. It's more touristy these days though I did walk through miles of shops selling wire-wound resistors and pieced components. Nothing like this in the States that I know of. Unfortunately, everything I was interested in (ie. PSP) could be determined to be without region coding. I bummed around and looked at all the nifty gadgets, not great deals, but geared more American friendly than most places.
